Here at Sheepland, we’re a small family-run company tucked away in the heart of Somerset, where everything we do is rooted in traditional craftsmanship and a real respect for natural materials. There’s something quite striking about this batch of Supersize Icelandic sheepskins. These rare breed Icelandic sheepskins are a perfect reflection of that, full of character, comfort, and natural beauty.
Each one has been carefully hand selected for its depth of colour, character, and fleece quality, then left completely undyed so those rich, natural tones can really come through. Soft ivories, silvery hues, gentle greys and warmer browns all appear within the fleeces, each rug completely individual with its own markings.
These are our Supersize Icelandic sheepskins, the largest we’ve ever had through the workshop, with an exceptionally long wool and deep, flowing pile. The outer fur is beautifully long and slightly wild in appearance, giving that relaxed Scandinavian, Nordic look, while the dense underlayer beneath brings softness and warmth underfoot.
Icelandic sheepskin is known for its unique dual-coated fleece, developed over centuries in a harsh climate. That natural structure is what gives these rugs their distinctive combination of strength, softness and breathability, keeping you warm in winter and comfortable all year round.
They sit effortlessly in a home, whether placed in front of a fire, draped over a chair or sofa, or laid beside the bed. There’s an easy, natural elegance to them that works just as well in a modern interior as it does in a more traditional setting.
Tanned within the EU to a high standard, each sheepskin retains a silky, luxurious feel while remaining naturally breathable and temperature regulating.
Every rug is individually photographed and listed, so you can choose the exact one that speaks to you. We’ll also include a complimentary sheepskin brush with your order to help keep it looking its best.

We call these “Organic” sheepskins because they are entirely free of any bleach or dye, they have still been tanned to preserve the hide, but the colouring and patterns have been left 100% utterly as nature intended.
We do our very best to take these photographs in natural light and we do not alter the colouring post production. However as much as we try to give a clear reflection on the colouring, sheepskin is a natural product and in some lights tones may appear differently, this is the beauty of buying such a unique sheepskin.
