There are sheepskin rugs, and then there are rugs like this.

Handcrafted in our small Somerset workshop, Black Ember is without question one of the most striking double sheepskin rugs we have ever created. Measuring an impressive 207 cm × 77 cm, it has real presence, with an abundance of wonderfully wild Icelandic fleece flowing from end to end.

The colouring is entirely natural and completely undyed. Deep espresso and near-black tones frame a dramatic band of warm amber running through the centre, created naturally over time as the sun gently lightened the fur tips. Combined with the soft ivory edging that is characteristic of this breed, the result is a fleece full of depth, contrast and character that simply cannot be replicated.

Made from two exceptional rare breed Icelandic sheepskins, each fleece was carefully selected and hand matched before being stitched together here in Somerset. The long, flowing fibres create incredible movement throughout the rug, giving it an almost untamed appearance that feels both luxurious and authentic.

This is a true one-off. The natural sun-kissed colouring, markings and character of these fleeces can never be repeated, making Black Ember a genuinely unique statement piece.
