Some sheepskins reveal their beauty all at once. Others invite you to look a little closer. Silver Veil is very much the latter.

At first glance, this beautiful British Rare Breed double appears wonderfully soft and creamy, yet as the light catches its soft fur, delicate silver-grey undertones begin to emerge beneath the ivory wool. Rather than sitting on the surface, these natural shades seem to rise from within the fleece itself, creating remarkable depth and movement that changes from every angle.

Its long, beautifully tactile fleece is irresistibly soft, which invites you to run your hand across it. The subtle silver shading adds quiet character without ever overpowering the rug’s elegant ivory appearance. It has a wonderfully refined look, with the hint of soft grey lending depth and definition while allowing the warm ivory tones to remain the star of the show.

Like every one of our British Rare Breed sheepskins, Silver Veil is completely undyed, allowing nature’s own colours to take centre stage. No bleach, no artificial colouring and no two ever the same. Each marking has been created naturally, making this an individual piece that simply cannot be replicated.

Lovingly handcrafted here in Somerset using British sheep that have been bred, grazed and processed here in the UK before being tanned in the South West, this exceptional double reflects everything we love about traditional British sheepskins. We only ever make these doubles in very small numbers, carefully selecting two complementary fleeces before joining them by hand, a process that takes both patience and experience.

Measuring approximately 187 × 74 cm, Silver Veil is equally at home draped over a favourite sofa, laid beside the bed or displayed in front of the fireplace, where its gentle silver undertones and wonderfully sumptuous fleece can truly be appreciated. Its versatile colouring blends effortlessly with both contemporary and traditional interiors, bringing warmth, texture and timeless character wherever it’s placed.

As with all of our individually photographed rugs, the sheepskin shown is the exact one you’ll receive. Before photography, it has been carefully hand-brushed here in our Somerset workshop to show the fleece at its very best, and we’ll include one of our complimentary Sheepland sheepskin brushes (while stocks last) to help keep it looking beautiful for years to come.
