Some sheepskins catch your eye straight away. Others reveal their beauty little by little. Silver Haze is very much the latter.

At first glance it appears beautifully creamy ivory, yet as the light changes you’ll notice the softest silver-grey undertones running gently through the fleece. Those subtle natural shades give the rug a wonderfully calm, almost cloud-like appearance, creating depth without ever overpowering its natural beauty.

Made entirely from carefully selected British rare breed sheepskins, Silver Haze is one of those doubles that simply couldn’t be recreated. Every fleece is different, and finding two that sit so naturally together takes time, patience and a great deal of searching.

We hand-select every sheepskin ourselves before bringing them back to our Somerset workshop, where they’re carefully matched and stitched together by hand. It’s a slow process that can’t be hurried, and often takes several hours before we’re happy that the two fleeces belong together.

The result is a beautifully balanced double measuring 192 cm × 73 cm, with an exceptionally soft, deep fleece that’s wonderfully inviting underfoot or draped over your favourite chair.

As with all of our British rare breed rugs, Silver Haze is completely undyed and unbleached. Every gentle variation in colour has come directly from nature, making this rug completely unique.

We’ve been making British sheepskin rugs here in Somerset since 1986, and every year it becomes a little harder to source enough matching rare breed fleeces. Many beautiful skins remain as singles simply because we refuse to force a pairing that doesn’t feel right. When a double like Silver Haze comes together so naturally, it’s always worth waiting for.

Before photographing, we carefully brush the fleece by hand here in our workshop, so the rug you see is the exact one you’ll receive. To help keep it looking its very best, we’ll also include a complimentary Sheepland sheepskin brush with your order, while stocks last.
