Our rarest — and most sought-after — breed, now worked into a truly handsome supersize double rug. Every unique double is hand-cut, hand-matched and hand-finished by our small family team in Somerset. To our knowledge, we’re the only company in Somerset still crafting sheepskin rugs in-house today — quite possibly the only one left doing so in the whole of the UK.

Over three decades we’ve handled a great many sheepskins, and these are the largest 100% British Jacob skins we’ve ever brought into the workshop that match. Finding two that marry so perfectly is almost unheard of — and the result is the largest Jacob double we’ve ever made in our history.

Measured at huge 228 cm x 80 cm, this is a proper, hearth-ready rug with a long, luxurious fleece: deep, cloud-soft pile with that natural Jacob colouration of cream, chestnut and chocolate. The sheepskin is plush underfoot, cosy to the touch, and full of that gentle, sumptuous warmth only a true sheepskin brings.

Made from 100% British Jacob sheepskins — bred, grazed and processed here in the UK, then tanned in the South West — it’s a thoroughly British rug from start to finish. Each pair of hides is carefully matched for a seamless join and left entirely undyed to showcase the natural colouring. We’re a family company, established in 1986, and we still make every rug ourselves in the old way because it feels and looks better. It looks fabulous in a modern and traditional setting alike, from a music room to in front of a roaring fire, it’ll be the envy of all your guests. Although be warned, your four-legged companions may stake their claim. The natural sheepskin wicks away moisture, helping to regulate temperature through the seasons. Care is straightforward: give it a shake now and then and a light brush to keep the fur looking it’s best — and we’ll include a free sheepskin brush with every rug.
