Soft as a whisper and light as morning mist, our Milkwood Double Sheepskin Rug captures the quiet elegance of natural British sheepskin at its finest. Handmade in our Somerset workshop from 100% British rare breed sheepskins, this rug is entirely unique—undyed, unbleached, and full of gentle, authentic character.

We carefully hand-selected these lighter, creamier fleeces for their softness and silk-like texture, matching them by hand to create this beautiful, flowing piece. The natural palette is a delicate blend of ivory and pale cream, kissed with the faintest golden tones and marked with a soft, subtle speckle towards the end—a reminder of the individuality of each sheep, and a testament to the beauty of natural materials.

This sheepskin rug is made exclusively from incredible 100% British rare breed fleeces. Every fleece comes from small flocks grazing the green hills and fields of the UK, supporting traditional British farming at a time when genuine homegrown sheepskin is becoming increasingly scarce. Every stage, from selection to hand-finishing, is proudly done here in the UK. This is not mass production—this is slow, considered craftsmanship, rooted in respect for the land, the animals, and the heritage of British making.

Each sheepskin is hand-selected for its distinctive markings and natural softness, then expertly matched and hand-stitched by our skilled team at Sheepland. We remain one of the very few British makers (if not the only ones!)  still crafting these rugs the traditional way—from fleece to finish, all under one roof.

Measuring approximately 191cm in length and 68cm across, it’s generously sized and deeply comforting underfoot. To help care for your rug, we include a complimentary sheepskin brush with every order.

We photograph all our rugs in natural daylight to capture their true tones—but as with all natural materials, the colour may subtly shift depending on the light in your home. It’s all part of the living, breathing beauty of working with something so real.
