Handmade British Double Sheepskin Rug – “Oyster Pearl” – Lovingly handcrafted from start to finish in our sheepskin Workshop, nestled in the rolling hills of Somerset. Here at Sheepland, we’re proud to be the only sheepskin company in Britain still handcrafting these rare breed rugs like this—right here in Somerset, since 1986.

Our newest creation, which we’re nicknaming “Oyster Pearl” is a true celebration of nature and heritage. Measuring approximately 180cm long by 63cm wide, it’s perfect for draping over a favourite chair, laying across the foot of a bed, or placing beside the fire to bring a layer of warmth and gentle luxury to your home.

This soft, muted tone—named “Oyster” due to the subtle grey tones found at the base of the hair, which blends into warm ivory — echoing the serene beauty found inside an oyster shell. It’s a naturally elegant, quietly grounding colour that adapts beautifully to any interior.

Each rug is made from two hand-selected rare breed British sheepskins, chosen for their softness, character, and quality. These sheepskins are completely natural and undyed—free from chemicals and full of individuality. Every curve, pattern and shade is shaped by the landscape they come from, making your rug truly one of a kind.

Our family takes great care in every stage of the making process. Each rug is hand-stitched and finished with love and skill, preserving the authentic luxury and timeless feel of the fleece. This is more than just a rug—it’s a piece of British heritage, made to last and be treasured for years to come.

To help you care for your rug, we include one of our specially designed sheepskin brushes—ideal for keeping the fleece soft, fluffy, and looking just as beautiful as the day it arrived.

We photograph all of our rugs in natural daylight to give you the truest representation possible, but please remember: natural sheepskin responds uniquely to its surroundings. The tones may shift slightly in different lighting, revealing new depths and hues—just one more reason we find it so magical.
