The deep, naturally occurring cocoa and coffee tones flow through the fleece with gentle ombré transitions and soft, lighter tips that subtly catch the light. Sumptuously soft and naturally warm, each rug is made from 100% British, undyed rare-breed brown fleeces, celebrated for their rich chocolate hues and mellow, sun-kissed highlights. These lighter notes develop naturally over many months of grazing under the British sun (when it does appear!), giving every rug a softly weathered character. No two fleeces present the same markings; some display a deeper saddle along the spine, while others show a diffused dusk-like halo around the edges.

We hand-select every sheepskin for its silken texture and distinctive character, then hand match, pair and stitch each hide in our Somerset workshop. This thoughtful pairing preserves the softly framed edge, giving the rug a beautifully balanced presence on the floor. The result is a durable, naturally insulating piece that brings authentic rural character and exceptional comfort to any room. The subtle tonal play adds depth to pale floors and a gentle lift to darker interiors.

Our sheepskins are sourced exclusively from British farms committed to high welfare, traditional husbandry and the conservation of native and rare breeds. Choosing a rug from us directly supports these farms, helping to sustain the longstanding British sheepskin industry and the craft skills that accompany it. Natural colouring varies by breed and pasture, ranging from warm milk-chocolate to deeper cocoa and espresso accents. This is considered, small-scale craftsmanship — fleece to finish — rooted in respect for the animal, the land and the heritage of rural British making.
