Ivory with Butterscotch – 100% British Sheepskin

If you are looking for a thoroughly British Sheepskin, look no further! What makes this rug extra special is that it is 100% British from start to finish, the sheep are bred, grazed and culled all in the UK, the skins are then tanned in the South West, and the finished rug is carefully trimmed, matched, stitched and finished here in our own Somerset workshop. The fleece measures an impressive 190 cm × 78 cm, beautifully soft ivory fur with a natural butterscotch accent running through the fleece, creating a warm addition that makes this rug particularly lovely. These tones are completely natural quirks of the skin, these are entirely undyed and unbleached, left completely as nature intended, this makes the sheepskin incredibly unique.
Each sheepskin is hand selected and paired by hand so the tones sit beautifully together – it may take us hours, but the results are well worth it! Once the skins are matched, they are then cut, stitched and finished by hand in our Somerset workshop. The result is a wonderfully soft, characterful sheepskin rug with natural warmth, beautiful British provenance and craftsmanship that comes from working with sheepskin every day. A truly one of a kind piece.

We call these “Organic” sheepskins because they are entirely free of any bleach or dye, they have still been tanned to preserve the hide, but the colouring and patterns have been left 100% utterly as nature intended. We do our very best to take these photographs in natural light and we do not alter the colouring post production. However as much as we try to give a clear reflection on the colouring, sheepskin is a natural product and in some lights tones may appear differently, this is the beauty of buying such a unique sheepskin.
