100% British Undyed Rare Breed Natural UK Double Sheepskin Rug – Handmade in Somerset
Honey Meadow Speckled
183 cm × 75 cm
This one feels like early summer in the countryside.
A soft honeyed cream base, gently scattered with natural speckles and deeper meadow-toned markings. The colouring is beautifully subtle, the kind you don’t fully notice at first, but the more you look, the more depth and warmth it reveals.
This is a 100% British undyed sheepskin rug, made using rare breed fleeces from British farms, with no bleach or dyes. Every tone, every marking is exactly as nature intended.
We hand-select each fleece ourselves at the tannery, choosing for softness, character and balance. From there, they’re carefully paired and hand-stitched together in our Somerset workshop, a slow and considered process that can take hours to get just right.
We’ve been making sheepskin rugs here in Somerset since 1986, and it remains a traditional, hands-on craft. Rugs like this are becoming harder to create, with fewer fleeces available and even fewer that match well enough to form a beautiful double. That’s what makes pieces like this so special.
The fleece is wonderfully soft and full, with a silky feel you can’t help but run your hand through, and those gentle meadow speckles catching the light as it moves.
Chosen entirely by hand, it works beautifully in the home, draped over a chair, laid at the end of a bed, or placed in front of the fire.
Exclusive to us. Handmade from scratch in our Somerset workshop, we are now one of the last workshops in the UK still creating undyed 100% British rare breed double rugs entirely by hand.
Only one available, once it’s gone, it’s gone.
If you have any trouble at all, please do not hesitate to call us on 01458 850991 and we can help. We call these “Organic” sheepskins because they are entirely free of any bleach or dye, they have still been tanned to preserve the hide, but the colouring and patterns have been left 100% utterly as nature intended. We do our very best to take these photographs in natural light and we do not alter the colouring post production. However as much as we try to give a clear reflection on the colouring, sheepskin is a natural product and in some lights tones may appear differently, this is the beauty of buying such a unique sheepskin.
