This striking double sheepskin rug carries a rich glowing tone we have named Somerset Amber. Warm amber and coppery orange shades run through the fleece, with deeper russet tones along the centre, giving the rug a beautiful depth and warmth that instantly brings a room to life.

What makes this piece particularly special is its true British origin from start to finish. The sheepskins come from sheep bred and grazed on British farms, where they spend their lives in the natural countryside landscape. The hides are then professionally tanned here in the South West, preserving the softness and character of the fleece while ensuring the skin remains supple and durable.

Here at Sheepland, we then carefully hand match the individual sheepskins so the tones and textures sit beautifully together. Once paired, the skins are stitched, shaped and finished by hand in our Somerset workshop, continuing the small traditional process we have followed since 1986.

At 188 cm long, this is a wonderfully generous double sheepskin. It drapes beautifully over a bench or armchair, works perfectly beside the bed, or can be used as a luxurious floor rug where the thick fleece can truly be appreciated.

The wool itself is dense, springy and wonderfully soft. Genuine sheepskin naturally regulates temperature, keeping you warm and cosy in winter while remaining breathable and comfortable all year round.

As with all natural sheepskins, the outline follows the organic shape of the hides and the fleece carries natural variations in tone and texture. These characteristics are part of what make every rug completely unique.
