Our rugs are used in both Montessori and Reggio inspired Day Nurseries, the natural textures of the rugs and the superb quality make these a sought after essential in any environment where quality of care is of paramount importance. Please be aware that a normal fleece is not suitable for a young baby.
Sheepskin baby rugs have been enjoyed by babies from around the world, the warmth and comfort of the fleece feels wonderful against the skin. The versatility and special properties of Sheepskin were revealed by a woman in New Zealand, when her child was recovering from illness.

Mothers have wrapped their babies in wool to keep them warm and dry, for centuries. The  use of  lambskin as bedding, pram or floor mat is the modern equivalent.

Thermal Control

These baby rugs are just fantastic, natural ivory colour, and so soft your baby will want to stroke them, and will naturally rest and cuddle into the fur.

You can buy cheaper fleeces, but they do not have the consistent quality that these have. ALWAYS CHECK YOUR BABY FLEECE HAS BEEN SPECIALLY TREATED

These are specially cured to be safe for children, and the shorter wool allows baby to cuddle and nuzzle, without the danger of entangling tiny fingers, or breathing longer fibres. These pictures are my precious grand daughter, she adores her rug, it travels with her everywhere she goes!

Stroller Fleece

These special car/baby seat fleeces, are designed to come apart, using strong velcro, so that they can fit into car seats, strollers, etc., and can be adjusted to use just some sections for small baby - then add the top section for when baby grows, or to use in the stroller.

Picture left shows the main section with the head separated, and used in the car seat below.

Right used in the buggy, no threading, no strap adjustment, just an easy move from one to the other. These really are a MUST HAVE item.

Sleeping Position

Health care professionals advise that young babies under one year of age should be placed to sleep on their backs. This is a safety measure for use with all bedding, including sheepskin baby rugs.

Tests have proven that surfaces with which a baby comes in contact with are very important for their physical, sensory and behavioural development. Spot soiling can be sponged and dried with a hairdryer on low heat.
Dry away from direct heat, over a rack or outside on fine day. A teaspoon of glycerine can be added to the final rinsing water to help keep the leather supple.
